PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brad Bandridge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trent Cotchin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bandridge kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is 6 pack of beer- Hank 3. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brad Bandridge!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Trent Cotchin!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Chris Dean and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bandridge stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Cotchin.
A nice leg kick lands there from Cotchin.

Cotchin moves into range and clinches up with Bandridge.
Bandridge is trying to force a seperation but Cotchin has the dominant position.
Bandridge takes a shot to the head.
A hook to the body from Cotchin.
Cotchin lands with a left to the head.

Cotchin has clasped his hands together around Bandridge's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Cotchin cracks Bandridge with an elbow. That is naaassty.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Cotchin remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Cotchin wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bandridge, who protects the arm well.

Cotchin wants to control but Bandridge is keeping him busy.

Cotchin is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bandridge is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Cotchin creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Bandridge is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Cotchin off and has taken his back!

Cotchin has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Bandridge.
Cotchin tries to break free.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Bandridge lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Trent Cotchin dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Bandridge lands a slapping body shot.
Cotchin has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Bandridge is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Cotchin, right into the meat.
Bandridge throws a jab when Cotchin was well out of range.
Bandridge uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Cotchin.
Cotchin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bandridge moves away.
Cotchin stuns Bandridge with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Bandridge swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Cotchin gets a clinch.
Bandridge is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Cotchin tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Bandridge's elbow.
Cotchin keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Bandridge's efforts to push away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cotchin presses Bandridge against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Cotchin lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Bandridge is trying to break the clinch but Cotchin has him pressed against the cage.

Cotchin is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Bandridge can't fight it off and eventually Cotchin manages to take the fight to the floor. Bandridge looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Cotchin has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Cotchin slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Bandridge is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Bandridge manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cotchin manages to get himself to full guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bandridge wants to pass the guard but Cotchin is keeping the position.
Bandridge won't allow Cotchin to sweep him here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Bandridge cracks a nice hook into Cotchin's ribs.
Cotchin fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Cotchin fails in his attempt to clinch.

Cotchin moves into the clinch.
Cotchin tries to throw a body punch but Bandridge avoids it by throwing Cotchin back against the cage.
Cotchin lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Bandridge has hold of one of Cotchin's legs. Cotchin is fighting the takedown attempt but Bandridge gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Cotchin has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Bandridge doesn't defend quickly enough and Cotchin has managed to lock this one up! Can Bandridge escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Cotchin on a fantastic submission victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Trent Cotchin!
A victorious Trent Cotchin thanked his army of followers in his post fight interview, telling people to make sure they follow him on Twitter.
Brad Bandridge was interviewed post fight and said 'Wow, I guess your wife must have really drained me. Good sexual tactic.'.
