Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike McCallum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Desmond Hume (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
12 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mike McCallum!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

22 - 28 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Desmond Hume!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Topper Green and Ben Watson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hume misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
McCallum looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Hume moves into the clinch successfully.
Hume with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Hume is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. McCallum can't fight it off and eventually Hume manages to take the fight to the floor. McCallum looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
McCallum is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McCallum throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hume accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hume in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
McCallum has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hume throws a big elbow that misses.
Hume stopping the sweep attempt from McCallum.
Hume really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McCallum. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hume is looking to work some ground and pound but McCallum has wrist control.

McCallum looking for a sweep. Not yet McCallum, not yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hume working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of McCallum's head.
McCallum wants to sweep here but Hume controlling him for the moment.
Hume trying to control the position from guard on top but McCallum is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Hume postures up in McCallum's guard and throws a big left but McCallum blocks it.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Hume is looking to clinch.
Hume closes the distance and clinches.
Hume throws a knee to the head but misses.
McCallum wants to take the fight to the mat but Hume manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
McCallum drops down looking for an ankle pick but Hume pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike McCallum. That's going to take a lot out of him.

McCallum wants the takedown. Hume is fighting it off but McCallum persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Hume's guard against the cage.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hume is on top in guard.
Hume lands a couple of digs.
McCallum preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
McCallum manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hume manages to get himself to full guard.
Hume is trying to control the position but McCallum postures up.
Hume wants to sweep but no luck.
Hume working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from McCallum.
Hume is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
McCallum has a takedown stuffed.
McCallum is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hume.
McCallum tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Hume defends well and McCallum ends up having to push Hume into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Hume stuffs the takedown attempt from McCallum. McCallum gets slowly back to his feet.
Hume clinches up with McCallum and pushes him back against the cage.
Hume with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

It looks like Mike McCallum has been cut.
Hume slowing the pace effectively.
Hume landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
McCallum wants to take the fight to the mat but Hume manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Hume turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Hume manages to end up in side control.
McCallum is letting Hume control him for a moment.
Hume landing strikes.
McCallum is not content to let Hume control the position.
McCallum is trying to strike from the bottom but Hume has passed into full mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hume lands a big elbow.
McCallum is rocked!
Hume lands a heavy shot. That's hurt McCallum! Hume sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless McCallum and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Desmond Hume!
Desmond Hume spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
