Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Low Ki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Gregory Mitchell!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Colin Fotheringham and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ki lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
It looks like Gregory Mitchell has been cut.
Ki fails in his attempt to clinch.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Mitchell! But no joy.
Ki uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Mitchell.
As Mitchell looks to move away, Ki throws a big counter combo bu Mitchell just gets out of the way.
Mitchell misses with a left hand
and Ki makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Ki throws a low kick, looking for Mitchell's leg but Mitchell calmly moves out of range.
Mitchell looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Mitchell throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Ki wants to clinch.
A good leg kick by Ki.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mitchell misses with a hook
and Ki connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Ki tries to clinch up but Mitchell circles away and keeps his distance.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ki keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ki misses with a double jab.
Ki takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Ki closes the distance and pushes Mitchell back into the cage.
Ki misses with a hook from the clinch.
Mitchell misses with a short punch on the inside.
Mitchell breaks the clinch.
Mitchell scores with a nice right hand.
Ki tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Ki looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Ki stuns Mitchell with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
The fighters circling - Mitchell throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Ki half committed to a counter leg kick.
Mitchell dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ki throws a good cross that connects.
A shot to the liver by Ki. Beautiful body shot.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mitchell takes one to the chin there.
Ki is pawing at Mitchell, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Mitchell's nose. Mitchell is badly hurt! Ki pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Mitchell tries desperately to hold on but Ki is relentless in his assault! As Mitchell receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Ki away and this one is in the books!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Low Ki!
An out of breath Low Ki thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
The defeated Gregory Mitchell had this to say: 'He just got lucky mate.'.
