Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Isreal Mayer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and DaVinci Volkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Isreal Mayer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, DaVinci Volkov! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, James Glass and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Volkov stuffs the takedown attempt from Mayer. Mayer gets slowly back to his feet. Volkov shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mayer's guard. Mayer knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Volkov on the ground. Volkov chips away with some ground and pound. Volkov works over Mayer with some ground and pound from guard. Mayer tries to strike from the bottom.
Mayer can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Volkov controls the pace. Mayer wants to get back to his feet but Volkov is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Mayer working a defensive guard here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Volkov controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Mayer is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Volkov dives into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mayer wants to control but Volkov postures up.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Good exchange - Volkov coming out on top. Volkov thows a left - swing and a miss! Mayer uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Volkov. Volkov missing with a left hand there. Mayer was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Volkov misses with an uppercut. Mayer saw that one coming. Volkov throws a hook but Mayer blocks it. Mayer avoids the body shot from Volkov.
Mayer changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Volkov tries to avoid it but Mayer manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Volkov to the ground. Volkov escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Volkov feints the counter takedown. Mayer gets caught flat footed, as Volkov shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Volkov controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Volkov has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Volkov makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Mayer is looking to stand up but Volkov isn't so interested in that idea. Mayer managing to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Volkov sitting in guard here, content to control. Volkov lands a couple of elbows. Volkov is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Mayer is trying to keep Volkov in close.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Volkov keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Isreal Mayer. That's going to take a lot out of him. Volkov scores with a crisp jab that stopped Mayer in his tracks. Volkov rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mayer moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Volkov darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Volkov with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Volkov is trying to work for a kimura but Mayer is defending well.
Volkov content to control rather than advance. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mayer wants to control but Volkov is keeping busy and won't allow it. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Volkov controlling the pace. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
DaVinci Volkov dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Mayer tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Volkov swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Mayer uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Volkov.
Mayer fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Mayer doesn't manage to clinch there - Volkov circles away.
Mayer throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Volkov's waist but Volkov gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mayer off to one side. Volkov throws a shot from downtown. Mayer moves away and avoids it. Mayer fails with the takedown and Volkov counters with a nice double leg into half guard. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Isreal Mayer. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Volkov is trying for a kimura here. Mayer looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Volkov wins by kimura!
