The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Strapp shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Strapp thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
De Leeuw keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Strapp not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Strapp wants to take a breather but De Leeuw is having none of it.
De Leeuw is looking to escape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Strapp is pressing down on De Leeuw 's thigh, looking to free his foot. De Leeuw is holding on for now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Strapp drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but De Leeuw manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Strapp has De Leeuw in his guard.

De Leeuw wants to stand but Strapp has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Strapp bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in De Leeuw 's guard.

Strapp distracts De Leeuw with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

De Leeuw preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Strapp is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Strapp throwing strikes but missing.
Strapp tries to free his leg and advance position but De Leeuw is retaining full guard.
Strapp throws an elbow that misses. De Leeuw uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Strapp's guard. Nice move by De Leeuw !

De Leeuw would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

De Leeuw takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
De Leeuw just misses with a punch to the body.

Strapp throws a head kick that misses.
Strapp throws a leg kick which misses De Leeuw 's front leg but catches the back leg as De Leeuw tries to avoid it.

De Leeuw misses with a body shot.
De Leeuw goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

It looks like Darwin Strapp has been cut.
De Leeuw moves out of range of the leg kick from Strapp.
De Leeuw has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Strapp finds it's way round the side to connect with De Leeuw 's head.

De Leeuw is rocked!
De Leeuw drops his hands momentarily. Strapp doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. De Leeuw staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. De Leeuw doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.

Darwin Strapp decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
