Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Boros Monet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pale Monster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Monet comes into the arena with Downstait - Open Your Eyes blaring out of the sound system. Monster has chosen Therapy as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Boros Monet! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Pale Monster! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Chris Saunders and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Monster is defended easily by Monet. Monet misses with a few strikes there.
Monet misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Monster.
Monet tries to keep at a distance but Monster has taken the fight into the clinch. Monet tries to break free but Monster pushes him back against the cage. Monet is trying to break the clinch but Monster is controlling him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Monet manages to break the clinch.
Monet throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Monet throws a leg kick but Monster checks it. Monet looks to land a left hand but Monster moved out of range nicely. Monet waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Monster.
That's one minute gone in the round. A head kick misses from Monet. Monster tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Monet throws a head kick that misses. Monet lands an overhand right. We've been told by Monet's head coaches at Hilo Training Center that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Monster takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Monster looks for a takedown but Monet sprawls well. Monster shoots in for a takedown but Monet shows good takedown defense. Boros Monet has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pale Monster. Monet throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Monster's head.
It looks like Pale Monster has been cut. Monster takes a kick to the side of the head.
Monster is rocked! A head kick misses from Monet. Monster moves in looking to clinch but Monet pushes him off. Monster is looking to clinch. Monet throwing a counter right hand but Monster manages to avoid it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lazy left from Monet finds it's target. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Monster is looking to clinch but Monet is avoiding it.
Monet throws a head kick that misses. Monet throws a sloppy head kick and Monster counters with a nice double leg into side control. Monet won't be happy with that. Monster in side control lands a decent elbow. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Monet tries to escape but Monster is in control. Monster working the ground and pound from side control. Monster tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Monet is not content to let Monster control the position. Monster throwing shots but missing, from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Monster sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Monet is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Monster is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Monet is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Monster wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Monet, who protects the arm well. Monet being controlled for a moment. Monet defending against the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. An elbow from Monster crashes against the mat.
Monster scoring with punches and elbows. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Monet defending against the ground and pound. Monster slows the pace down. Monster working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Monster tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Monster has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Monster controlling from side mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Boros Monet will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Pale Monster's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
A slow jab from Monet misses its intended target. Monster closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Monet to the mat! Monet manages to get full guard. Monet has his feet on Monster's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Monster avoids a punch combination nicely.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Monster! But no joy. Monster keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Monster throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Monet was covering up waiting for the punch and Monster finishes the takedown easily into guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Monster throwing strikes from guard but Monet blocks nicely. Monster lands a couple of digs. Monster sitting in guard, not really doing much.
That's one minute gone in the round. Monster missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Monster has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Monet keeping moving, preventing Monster from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Monster throwing strikes but missing. Monet wants to get back to his feet but Monster is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Monster keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Monet's head. Monster wants to control from the top but Monet keeps moving. Monster sitting in guard, not really doing much. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Monster accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Monster throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Monster is looking to work some ground and pound but Monet has wrist control. Monster is looking to work some ground and pound but Monet has wrist control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Monster controls from within his opponent's guard.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Monet throws a sloppy head kick and Monster moves out of range easily. Monster changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Monster works Monet's body with a nice hook. Monet throws a leg kick that is checked and Monster counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Monet! Monster content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Monster throws a strike aimed at the side of Monet's head but Monet avoids it well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Monet is being controlled here. Monster's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Monster has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Monet is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Monster yanks on the arm and Monet is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Monster.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Pale Monster! Pale Monster decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
