Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Palmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think James might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to NWO Wolfpack. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jimmy James! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Chris Palmer! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Colin Fray and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! James ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Palmer throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. James tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Palmer swivels and escapes. Palmer needs to keep his hands up - James had a free shot at his head there.
It looks like Chris Palmer has been cut. James looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Palmer manages to get to full guard.
James postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Palmer avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. James landing some decent shots from guard. James distracts Palmer with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. James preventing the sweep. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. James lands a couple of elbows. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! James wants to control from the top but Palmer keeps moving. Palmer throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! James escapes and throws Palmer's legs to the side, diving into side control!
That's one minute gone in the round. James thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Palmer taking a bit of punishment here - James scoring with strikes. James is chipping away with strikes.
Palmer is looking to regain half guard here but James keeps moving and retains side control. Palmer can't do much from the bottom here. James in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. James creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. James lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Palmer down.

Palmer dodges the ground and pound from James. James has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. James is looking to take a break and control but Palmer is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Palmer tries to bench press James off him but James keeps the position. James working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Palmer is positioning himself to get back to half guard. James wants to control but Palmer is keeping him busy. Palmer takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
This has been an exciting period of action! James connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Palmer some visible discomfort.

James is putting a hurting on Palmer here, landing some big shots from side control. James in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Palmer is not content to let James control the position. James tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. James thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Palmer tries to improve position but can't. Palmer struggling a bit here. Palmer sneaks back into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. James missing with the ground and pound from half guard. James is keen to just control but Palmer is a slippery customer. James is nestled in close to Palmer, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. James working the head and body with strikes. Palmer is looking for a sweep. James is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. James takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Palmer works his way to full guard. Good work. James missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Palmer looking to hit a scissor sweep but James is one step ahead there. Palmer scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Palmer slips a jab from James. James tries to clinch but Palmer moves out of range. James throws a right and a left that Palmer avoids nicely. James misses with a double jab
enabling Palmer to counter with a crisp jab. Palmer closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. James did well to prevent Palmer getting side control. James is refusing to be controlled, as Palmer sits in half guard. James wants to improve his position but Palmer is controlling well.
James is trying to maintain the position but Palmer is very close to passing his half guard. Palmer is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ground and pound from Palmer. James trying to get back to full guard but Palmer takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! James regains half guard. Palmer is keen to just control but James is a slippery customer. James is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Palmer can do to turn this around? Nice strikes from Palmer there. James trying to control here.

James striking off his back but it's not causing Palmer any problems. James keeping moving, preventing Palmer from controlling successfully. There's a bit of a scramble here and now James is on top in guard.

James working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. James postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. James wants to control from the top but Palmer keeps moving. Palmer tries to land a sweep but no joy. Our spies down at at Hilo Training Center inform us that Palmer has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Palmer controls James momentarily but James frees himself. James won't allow Palmer to sweep him here. Palmer working for a triangle but James defends it easily.

Palmer slips under a jab from James. James wants to clinch up but Palmer keeps it at a distance. James looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Palmer fails to land with a series of punches.

James tries for a takedown but Palmer sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. James misses with an uppercut. Nice straight punches there by Palmer. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Palmer. James looks to throw the jab but Palmer is out of range. Palmer lands a slapping body shot.
Chris Palmer seems to be getting the better of the standup. Palmer throws a nice outside leg kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Palmer scores with a body shot.
James works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. James throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Palmer. James tries to score a power double leg takedown but Palmer sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten James somewhat. Palmer looks like he wants to counter punch here. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. James with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Palmer to score with a decent uppercut. Palmer turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Palmer connects with an inside leg kick. Palmer lands with a straight right. James didn't see that one coming. Palmer throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent James stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. James stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. James shoots in but Palmer avoids the takedown attempt easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jimmy James. That's going to take a lot out of him. James loads up on a big right hand but Palmer slips the punch. James shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Palmer as he jumps to the side. James scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Palmer lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Palmer throws a nice looking combination but James bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. A slapping leg kick lands for Palmer.
James moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Palmer shoots in but no luck this time. Jimmy James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Palmer throws a series of punches but James avoids them all with ease. Palmer bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Palmer avoids a punch combination nicely.
James looks to land a combination but Palmer avoids it well. Palmer shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches James napping and manages to drive through into side control!
That's three minutes gone in the round. James is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Palmer off and has taken his back! James tries to get the hooks in deep but Palmer pushed the leg off. James has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Palmer tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Palmer taking shots to the head. Palmer is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Palmer bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! James looking for a sweep. Not yet James, not yet. James is working hard here to advance position. James keeping moving, preventing Palmer from controlling successfully. Palmer throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as James works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Palmer's corner. There ya go! There ya go! James lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. James postures up in Palmer's guard and throws a big left but Palmer blocks it. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! James looking to pass the guard. James keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Palmer's head. Palmer looking to sweep here. No luck so far. James lands a couple of decent looking shots. Chris Palmer has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! James pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Palmer is keeping the position for now. James got a little sloppy there for a moment and Palmer has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, James has managed to get both his arms back between Palmer's legs - danger averted. Palmer is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and James defends well.
And that's the end of the fight! Chris Palmer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think James has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
