Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lukks Fedor! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack MacDonald! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fedor shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Fedor was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Fedor lands a big elbow. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fedor trying to control but he's not successful this time. MacDonald regains half guard. Fedor prevents MacDonald from improving his position. Fedor wants to control but MacDonald is keeping him busy. MacDonald is controlling Fedor's position as best he can from this difficult position. Fedor is tying to control. MacDonald wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Fedor wants to pass to mount but MacDonald is defending the position. MacDonald keeping hold of Fedor's head, controlling as best he can. MacDonald gets back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. MacDonald is pulling down on Fedor's head. It's preventing any offense from Fedor, at least for the moment. Fedor could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. MacDonald looking for a sweep. Not yet MacDonald, not yet. MacDonald seems keen to control Fedor's posture. MacDonald keeping moving, preventing Fedor from controlling successfully. Fedor wants to stand but MacDonald is controlling his posture from full guard. MacDonald pulls Fedor in close to his closed guard and prevents Fedor from doing any damage or advancing position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Fedor wants to control from the top but MacDonald keeps moving. MacDonald wants to sweep here but Fedor controlling him for the moment.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Fedor fails to land the takedown. MacDonald shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. MacDonald showed some decent athleticism there. MacDonald trying to control the pace.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fedor is looking to control MacDonald's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Fedor avoid being mounted? Despite being in the dominant position, Jack MacDonald just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. MacDonald looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Fedor! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fedor is wriggling around trying to escape.
Fedor is breathing heavily. MacDonald looking to control and managing it successfully. MacDonald blocks Fedor's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Fedor really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

MacDonald feints and as Fedor raises his hands in defense, MacDonald changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Fedor is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. MacDonald controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. MacDonald stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fedor swivels though and keeps the full guard. Fedor bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in MacDonald's guard. MacDonald looking to sweep here. No luck so far. MacDonald pulls Fedor in close to prevent any damage. Fedor wants to stand but MacDonald has a closed guard, so he can't escape. MacDonald is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Jack MacDonald has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fedor won't allow MacDonald to sweep him here. Fedor seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. MacDonald controlling the position. Fedor trying to control but MacDonald is working from the bottom.

MacDonald must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

That's three minutes gone in the round. MacDonald sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Fedor's guard. Still in half guard, MacDonald seems content to control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. MacDonald is just content to waste time from the top position. Fedor takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
