Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nofurgay Jesus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryu Matsumoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jesus's entrance music is Sirius. A fine choice. The crowd seem to be enjoying Matsumoto's choice of entrance music: Pink Spider. Nofurgay Jesus could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Ryu Matsumoto's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nofurgay Jesus! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryu Matsumoto! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jesus shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Matsumoto sprawls well. Matsumoto wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jesus gets slowly back to his feet. Matsumoto feints the counter takedown. Matsumoto fails to land the takedown. Jesus looks to score with a jab to the body but Matsumoto is just out of range. Matsumoto shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Matsumoto is stalling in the full guard. Matsumoto's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Matsumoto in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jesus wants to sweep here but Matsumoto controlling him for the moment. Jesus controls Matsumoto momentarily but Matsumoto frees himself. Jesus keeping full guard, as Matsumoto tries to pass. Matsumoto wants to control from the top but Jesus keeps moving. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Matsumoto working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Jesus wants to sweep but no luck. Matsumoto slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Jesus looking to control but Matsumoto passes into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Matsumoto is working for a kimura but Jesus is defending it quite comfortably.
Matsumoto is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Jesus sees it coming and defends easily. Matsumoto thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jesus's head. Jesus blocking the ground and pound attempt from Matsumoto. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Matsumoto thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Matsumoto prevents Jesus from improving his position. Jesus controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Jesus avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Matsumoto. Jesus knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Matsumoto on the ground.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Nofurgay Jesus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jesus stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jesus wants it to stay on the feet. Jesus tries to clinch up. A slow jab from Jesus misses its intended target. Matsumoto with the counter takedown but Jesus avoids it easily. Jesus gets caught flat footed, as Matsumoto shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Matsumoto throwing strikes from guard but Jesus blocks nicely. Matsumoto drops back looking for a leg! Jesus is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jesus manages to kick Matsumoto off! Matsumoto jumps back into Jesus's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jesus seems keen to control Matsumoto's posture. Matsumoto trying to control the position from guard on top but Jesus is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Matsumoto throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Matsumoto wants to get up but he can't break Jesus's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Matsumoto preventing the sweep. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Jesus is working hard here to advance position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jesus utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ryu Matsumoto dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Matsumoto has a takedown stuffed. An attempted straight right counter from Jesus misses the target. Matsumoto dives in for a single leg takedown but Jesus sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the ropes. Jesus looks to land a right hand but Matsumoto moved out of range. Jesus closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Jesus thows a huge punch but Matsumoto dodges it nicely.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Jesus not landing any meaningful shots this time. Jesus working Matsumoto over with strikes. Matsumoto has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's one minute gone in the round. Matsumoto is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Jesus working over Matsumoto with some ground and pound. Matsumoto looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Matsumoto is trying to stand up here but Jesus is controlling him well. Matsumoto tries to get to full guard but Jesus has control of the leg. Jesus lands with a punch from half guard. Matsumoto gets back to full guard.
Ryu Matsumoto has got the better of the ground game so far. Matsumoto wants to get back to his feet but Jesus is in a dominant position and won't allow it. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Matsumoto can do anything to dispel that myth. Jesus throwing strikes from guard but Matsumoto blocks nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jesus connects with a couple of short punches. Jesus wants to control from the top but Matsumoto keeps moving. Jesus has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Jesus landing some decent shots from guard. Matsumoto avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Matsumoto preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Jesus stops Matsumoto from standing up. Matsumoto looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jesus is one step ahead there. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jesus postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Matsumoto avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Jesus stops Matsumoto from standing up. Jesus tries to free his leg and advance position but Matsumoto is retaining full guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Matsumoto shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jesus napping and manages to drive through into side control! The strikes coming from Matsumoto are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Jesus tries to bench press Matsumoto off him but Matsumoto keeps the position. Matsumoto is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Jesus has escaped the position, nice work there. Jesus wants to control but Matsumoto postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Matsumoto in side control, throwing shots but Jesus defends. Jesus tries to bench press Matsumoto off him but Matsumoto keeps the position. Matsumoto trying to control the position but Jesus is working away. Jesus is trying to get back to half guard. Matsumoto cracks Jesus with a big elbow. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jesus is looking for a sweep. Jesus managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Matsumoto.
Matsumoto wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jesus keeps working. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nofurgay Jesus dominated that second round. That's time! Jesus's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Matsumoto fails with a takedown attempt. It looked like Jesus wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Jesus throws a hook but Matsumoto avoids it easily. Matsumoto tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Matsumoto keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Jesus. Matsumoto feints the counter takedown. Jesus closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Matsumoto to the mat! Matsumoto manages to get full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jesus throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Matsumoto works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Jesus is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Matsumoto trying to control the position here. Matsumoto is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jesus is controlling him.

He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Jesus is looking to control Matsumoto's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jesus avoid being mounted? Jesus is staying active underneath Matsumoto, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Jesus wants to get back to full guard. Jesus blocking the ground and pound attempt from Matsumoto.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Matsumoto takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Jesus is trying to maintain the position but Matsumoto is very close to passing his half guard. Matsumoto is taking a breather. Jesus says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Jesus has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Matsumoto is working away from the top position though. Nice strikes from Matsumoto there. Matsumoto is trying to control. Jesus wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Well, if Matsumoto is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Jesus wants to control but Matsumoto is keeping busy and won't allow it.

That's three minutes gone in the round. A slow jab from Jesus misses its intended target. Matsumoto changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jesus tries to avoid it but Matsumoto manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jesus to the ground. Jesus escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Jesus scores with a takedown into Matsumoto's guard. Jesus is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Jesus is in close to Matsumoto's body, working some short punches and elbows. Matsumoto bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jesus's guard. Jesus is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Jesus wants to improve his position but instead Matsumoto has moved into half guard.
Matsumoto is pressing down on Jesus's thigh, looking to free his foot. Jesus is holding on for now. Jesus avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Matsumoto. Matsumoto slips a nice elbow through Jesus's hands, connecting with Jesus's forehead. Matsumoto wants to control but Jesus is keeping him busy. Jesus is trying to get back to full guard. Matsumoto scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Matsumoto prevents Jesus from improving his position. Jesus is refusing to be controlled, as Matsumoto sits in half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Nofurgay Jesus. I think Jesus has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
