With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mandla Bangizwe!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Mauricio Rocha and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Otstoev shoots in for a double leg but Bangizwe sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Bangizwe lands with a slapping head kick.
Bangizwe lands a high kick!
Otstoev shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bangizwe pinned against the cage. Bangizwe gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Otstoev shoots in for a takedown but Bangizwe shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kamaz Otstoev. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Bangizwe lands a head kick that stumbles Otstoev and the fighters go to the mat.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Otstoev wants to control the position but Bangizwe says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Otstoev could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Otstoev wants to control but Bangizwe is keeping busy.

Otstoev is staying active underneath Bangizwe, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Otstoev has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bangizwe is working away from the top position though.
The fighters are battling for position here. Otstoev manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Bangizwe avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Bangizwe must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Bangizwe is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Otstoev might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Otstoev looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Bangizwe is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Otstoev has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Bangizwe is looking to defend but Otstoev has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Bangizwe! Otstoev pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Bangizwe taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Kamaz Otstoev!
