Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kory Holman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sky Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Walker is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Bad Mofo - Jai One ft. Charlie Blaze. Sky Walker is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sky Walker!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Walker closes the distance and pushes Holman back into the cage.

Holman jumps guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Walker is stalling in the full guard.
Walker has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Holman is proving hard to escape from.
Walker stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Holman swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Holman really is a fat lump.
Walker is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Holman holds on and takes a little breather.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Holman is looking to clinch but Walker is avoiding it.

Holman has closed the distance and engaged Walker in a clinch.
Holman tries to pull guard but Walker won't allow it.
Holman manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Holman looks to throw an elbow but misses.

Holman gets control of Walker's arms and successfully pulls guard. Holman will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Holman pulls Walker in close to prevent any damage.
Walker wants to pass the guard but Holman is keeping the position.

Walker throws a big right hand that misses.
Walker is looking to work some ground and pound but Holman has wrist control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Walker is looking to stall here but Holman recovers full guard.
Holman pulls Walker in close to prevent any damage.
Holman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Walker drives through with a takedown into Holman's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Holman is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Walker presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

The fight stays on the outside here - Walker looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Holman tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Walker manages to circle out of the way.
Walker throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Holman stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Walker is looking for a kimura but Holman is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Walker to get the leverage.
Walker is trying to control the action in half guard but Holman is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Walker is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Walker is breathing heavily.
Holman is concentrating on defense, preventing Walker from advancing position.

Sky Walker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Sky Walker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Walker swings around for an armbar but Holman sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Walker's guard.

Holman stands up over Walker, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Walker has control of Holman's left arm, preventing Holman from doing any damage.
Holman seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Walker takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Holman connects with a couple of short punches.

Holman gets to his feet. Walker looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Holman has his feet on Walker's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Walker throws a body punch but Holman moves out of range.

Walker drives through with a takedown into guard.

Holman manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Holman jumps guard and drags Walker to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Walker wants to get up but he can't break Holman's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Sky Walker is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Walker wants to pass the guard but Holman is keeping the position.

Holman has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Walker can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Walker drops back, looking for a kneebar! Holman looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Holman looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Holman!

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kory Holman.
Well Walker has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
