Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sudo Nym (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jeff Li!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sudo Nym!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Decent striking displayed by Li there.
Li lands a nice looking body shot.

Nym pushes Li up against the cage in a clinch.

Nym pulls guard successfully.
Li controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Li gets to his feet. Nym looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Nym has taken the fight to the clinch.
A short right from Nym.
Li blocks an uppercut.
Nym changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Li fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Li throws a series of punches but Nym avoids them all with ease.
Nym wants to clinch up but Li keeps it at a distance.
Li attempts a counter takedown but Nym avoids it well and moves away.
Li misses with a wild combination.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Nym shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Li defends it nicely.

Li looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Nym manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Nym is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Li is controlling him.

Li pulls Nym in close to his closed guard and prevents Nym from doing any damage or advancing position.

Nym told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Nym passes Li's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Li has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Nym is working away from the top position though.
Nym wants to pass to mount but Li is defending the position.

Li pushes Nym off and gets back to his feet.
Jeff Li is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Nym is defended easily by Li.
Jeff Li has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sudo Nym.
Nym throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Li's waist but Li gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Nym off to one side.
Li misses with the combination.
Li throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Li lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
We've been told by Li's head coaches at H-13 Alpha Elite Training that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Nym shoots for a takedown but Li saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Li looks to land a body kick but Nym moved away.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Nym gets the takedown into side control.

Li explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Nym crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Li - the referee stops the clock and Nym gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Li. Nym manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Nym with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Li to score with a decent uppercut.

Nym scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Li is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Nym has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Li tries to improve position but can't.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Li is pushing Nym's head away, looking to escape. Nym manages to hold on to the position though.
Li gets back to half guard.
Nym is nestled in close to Li, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Nym thows a huge punch but Li dodges it nicely.
Nym stops Li from getting back to his feet.
Li wants to improve his position but Nym is controlling well.

Li kicks off Nym and gets to his feet.
Li is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Nym moves into the clinch successfully.

Nym tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Li avoids it.
Li is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Nym just misses with a elbow thrown towards Li's brow.
Li looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Li breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Nym.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Nym.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

Nym working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Li is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Nym's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Li misses the shot to the body.
Li slaps away a takedown attempt from Nym, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Li just misses with a punch to the body.
Nym avoids the body shot from Li.
Jeff Li is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Nym fails to land the takedown.

Li gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Nym throws a strike but Li rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Li gets to his feet - Nym follows without any prompting.
Li swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Li throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Li throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Nym stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Nym is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Li misses with a few strikes there.

Nym tries to score a power double leg takedown but Li sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Nym somewhat.
Nym fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Li avoids it really well and circles away.
Nym walks into a straight right hand from Li.
Nym gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Li gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

In his post fight interview, Jeff Li started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
