Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Giorgos Polatidis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mladen Mladenovich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mladenovich has chosen Belphegor - Sanctus Perversum as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Giorgos Polatidis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mladen Mladenovich! The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Fedor Mirinova and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight moves into the clinch position. Polatidis looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Polatidis. Polatidis wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Mladenovich has him pressed against the cage. Polatidis's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Polatidis fails to pull the fight into his guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mladenovich goes for a takedown attempt but Polatidis pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Mladenovich fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Polatidis fires out a quick counter leg kick but Mladenovich just manages to avoid it. Polatidis misses with a takedown attempt - Mladenovich sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. And Mladenovich tries to counter it with a takedown but Polatidis pushes his down on his head and steps out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Polatidis closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Mladenovich has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Polatidis avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Giorgos Polatidis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mladen Mladenovich. Mladenovich gets a trip takedown into half guard. Polatidis kicks off Mladenovich and gets to his feet. Mladenovich has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Polatidis is landing a low percentage of strikes. Polatidis looks for a takedown but Mladenovich sprawls well. Mladenovich changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Polatidis has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Cozad MMA St Petersburg in the buildup to the fight. Mladenovich feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mladenovich tries to free his leg and advance position but Polatidis is retaining full guard. Polatidis might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Polatidis is looking to stand up but Mladenovich isn't so interested in that idea. Polatidis utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Mladenovich is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Mladenovich drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Mladenovich as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Polatidis screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Mladenovich! Nice submission victory there!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Mladen Mladenovich! Mladen Mladenovich decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
