Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between De Janeiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mariusz Puszakowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). De Janeiro is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mariusz Puszakowski! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Alexandre Firmino and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Puszakowski darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Puszakowski wants to pass to mount but Janeiro is defending the position. Puszakowski prevents Janeiro from improving his position. Janeiro gets full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Puszakowski trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Puszakowski being controlled here momentarily. We've been hearing good reports from Janeiro's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Janeiro working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Puszakowski. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Janeiro gets caught napping as Puszakowski dives in and scores a takedown. Janeiro manages to retain guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Puszakowski accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Puszakowski must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Janeiro is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Puszakowski missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Puszakowski scores with a shot to the body.

Puszakowski ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Puszakowski no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Puszakowski wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Puszakowski really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Janeiro. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Puszakowski looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Janeiro is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Puszakowski can't keep his opponent in guard - Janeiro advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Puszakowski looking for submissions off his back. Janeiro is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Puszakowski sees it coming and defends easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Janeiro is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Janeiro is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Puszakowski doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Janeiro. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Oh but he could get punished here because Janeiro has locked up a guillotine! Janeiro's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Puszakowski is holding on here and Janeiro must be using up a lot of energy. Puszakowski has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Janeiro gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
