Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shinichi Onizuka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Marsden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Onizuka comes to the cage accompanied by First We Pray. Marsden is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Feiticeira by Deftones. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marsden looks to throw a body kick

and Onizuka counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Marsden tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Onizuka swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

Onizuka fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Marsden throws a hook to the side of Onizuka's head but Onizuka sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Marsden lands a head kick. Onizuka smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Onizuka has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Marsden can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Marsden accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Onizuka controls Marsden momentarily but Marsden frees himself.
Marsden is looking to work some ground and pound but Onizuka has wrist control.

Marsden throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Marsden in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Marsden cracks Onizuka with a big elbow.

Marsden goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Onizuka has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Marsden but great work by Onizuka.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marsden lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Onizuka circles away quickly and effectively.

Onizuka cracks Marsden with a good jab.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd cheers as Onizuka lands an impressive looking overhand right. Marsden doesn't seem phased though.

Our spies down at at Heart Cave inform us that Marsden has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Marsden is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Onizuka is tapping! Great win for Marsden!
