Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kobe Kage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Franklin Fitzgerald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Franklin Fitzgerald!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Peter Branson and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fitzgerald thows a left - swing and a miss!
Fitzgerald looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Kage ducks under a wild hook from Fitzgerald.
Fitzgerald misses with a double jab
and Kage counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Fitzgerald can do anything to dispel that myth.
Kage is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Fitzgerald defends it well.
Fitzgerald is refusing to be controlled, as Kage sits in half guard.
Kage is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kage definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Kage is looking to advance position but Fitzgerald won't allow it.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Fitzgerald can't escape the position.
Fitzgerald takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fitzgerald avoids a series of strikes thrown by Kage.
Kage sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Kage has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kage has control of Fitzgerald's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Fitzgerald regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Kage throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Fitzgerald tries to hold on but Kage pushes him away.
Kage is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Fitzgerald has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Fitzgerald!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kage looking to control.

Kage working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fitzgerald doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fitzgerald manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Fitzgerald pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kage is keeping the position for now.
Kage had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Fitzgerald defends it easily.
Kage wants to sweep here but Fitzgerald controlling him for the moment.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Fitzgerald thuds his shin into the meat of Kage's side.
Fitzgerald fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Kage looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Nice takedown defense from Fitzgerald. No joy for Kage on that attempt.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Fitzgerald! But no joy.
Kage shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Fitzgerald pinned against the cage. Fitzgerald gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Sloppy strikes from Fitzgerald. Those never looked like landing.
Kage avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Kage looks to land a left hand but Fitzgerald moved out of range nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Kobe Kage will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Fitzgerald moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Fitzgerald looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Kage is looking to counter punch.
A solid leg kick lands there for Fitzgerald.
Fitzgerald throws a body punch but Kage moves out of range.
Fitzgerald ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kage moves away.
A telegraphed right hand from Fitzgerald misses the target.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Fitzgerald scores with a hook to the body. Kage takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Fitzgerald has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Franklin Fitzgerald seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Fitzgerald lands a left and a right that send Kage crashing to the mat, dazed. Fitzgerald thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Kage is rocked!
Kage gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Fitzgerald points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Kage wakes up just in time to hear Fitzgerald thank his coaches in the post fight interview.
