Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Patricky Freire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Monokio Mow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mow has chosen Genesis as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Leandro Rodrigues and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mow pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Mow throws a head kick but Freire moves out of range.
Freire looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Mow throws a counter combo.
Freire slips a jab from Mow.
Freire lands an overhand right.
Freire shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Mow counters with an inside leg kick.
Freire tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mow sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Freire somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Patricky Freire. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mow throws a sloppy head kick and Freire moves out of range easily.
Freire went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Horrible takedown attempt by Freire or perhaps it was just good defense by Mow, which made it look bad.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A head kick misses from Mow.
Freire shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mow but Mow pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and Mow counters with a head kick. That will keep Freire thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Mow throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Freire throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Freire closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mow circles away.
Freire shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mow sprawls well. Mow wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Freire gets slowly back to his feet.

Freire takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Mow keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Freire connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Freire shoots for a double leg takedown but Mow sprawls well. He's pushed Freire's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Freire shoots in looking for a takedown. Mow tries to sprawl out of it but Freire keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Mow manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Mow throws a jab but it's blocked by Freire.
Mow lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Freire fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Freire tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mow swivels and escapes.
Freire will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Patricky Freire seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mow lands a nice leg kick that just misses Freire's sensitive parts.

Freire moves out of range as Mow throws a body kick.
A little feinted left hand from Freire on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Mow.
Freire blocks a low kick nicely.
Mow delivers a nice body kick.
Mow throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Freire drives through with a takedown into guard.
Mow keeping moving, preventing Freire from controlling successfully.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mow can do anything to dispel that myth.
Freire postures up in Mow's guard and throws a big left but Mow blocks it.
Freire stops Mow from standing up.
Freire pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mow is keeping the position for now.
Freire won't allow Mow to get back to his feet.
Freire advances to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mow is looking to escape.
Freire is trying to work for a kimura but Mow is defending well.
Freire passes to full mount!
Mow really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Freire. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Mow has given up his back. Will we see Freire going for some submissions?
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mow is trying to get back to his feet but Freire has full control of the position and if anything, Mow has just worked his way into a worse spot.
