Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dillon Stapleden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julio Madrigal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Madrigal has chosen Lil Jon-Throw it Up as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dillon Stapleden! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
26 - 11 - 1, fighting out of New York, Julio Madrigal! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, David Schapiro and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stapleden slips a straight right by Madrigal. Stapleden closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Madrigal's guard. Madrigal working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Stapleden. Stapleden being controlled here momentarily. Madrigal working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Stapleden doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Stapleden manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Madrigal is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Stapleden defends well. Stapleden controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stapleden wants to control from the top but Madrigal keeps moving. Madrigal had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Stapleden defends it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stapleden trying to control but Madrigal is working from the bottom. Stapleden has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Madrigal is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Stapleden defends well. Stapleden throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Madrigal works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Madrigal throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Stapleden's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Stapleden stands up over Madrigal, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Stapleden with a nice head shot there. Stapleden sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Madrigal's guard. Stapleden slips a nice elbow through Madrigal's hands, connecting with Madrigal's forehead. Stapleden is trying to control the action in half guard but Madrigal is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Nice strikes from Stapleden there. Madrigal looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Stapleden missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Madrigal trying to hold on to Stapleden's head to control him but Stapleden postures up.
Madrigal controlling the position well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stapleden landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Madrigal is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Stapleden is tapping! Great win for Madrigal!
