21 - 17 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brandon Walker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
24 - 33 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kermit Earlandson! The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Earlandson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Walker circles away. Earlandson with a jab.
It looks like Brandon Walker has been cut. Earlandson misses with a few strikes there.
Nice sprawl there from Walker as Earlandson shoots in. Earlandson dives in and grabs Walker's left leg, looking for a takedown. Walker pushes down on Earlandson's head and hops out. Brandon Walker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kermit Earlandson. Walker connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Earlandson takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Walker seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Earlandson dives in and grabs Walker's left leg, looking for a takedown. Walker pushes down on Earlandson's head and hops out. Walker throws a series of punches but Earlandson moves out of range. Earlandson unleashes a big counter combination but Walker bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. A solid leg kick lands there for Earlandson.
Earlandson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Walker! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Earlandson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Earlandson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Earlandson is trying to get an arm triangle but Walker is defending well.

Walker wants to get back to his feet. Walker manages to get back to half guard. Earlandson is looking to take a break and control but Walker is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Earlandson is trying to work for a kimura but Walker is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Walker is trying to stand back up but Earlandson is controlling him
Walker knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Earlandson on the ground. Earlandson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Walker is looking to improve his position.
Earlandson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Walker is not content to let Earlandson control the position.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Earlandson is working for a kimura but Walker is defending it quite comfortably.
Walker is staying active underneath Earlandson, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Earlandson seems to be looking for submissions.
Walker slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Earlandson trying to control but Walker is working from the bottom. Earlandson stands and throws Walker's legs to the side, diving into side control. Earlandson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Earlandson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Earlandson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Earlandson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Earlandson is looking to take a break and control but Walker is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Earlandson has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Walker is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Earlandson yanks on the arm and Walker is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Earlandson.
