Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cesar Castilho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joon BigMan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Joon BigMan enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Cesar Castilho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 18 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Joon BigMan!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Valeri Chadov and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

BigMan gets caught flat footed, as Castilho shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
BigMan is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Castilho dives into side control.
Castilho tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
A lull in the action here as Castilho stalls from top position.
Castilho looking to punish the body of his opponent here but BigMan is avoiding damage well.
BigMan defending against the ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Castilho is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
BigMan takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Castilho is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down BigMan's shoulder. That is not cool.
Castilho has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
BigMan on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
BigMan is looking to reverse the position.
Castilho content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if BigMan can do anything to dispel that myth.
Castilho just content to control the position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Castilho shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches BigMan napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Castilho tries to score with some ground and pound. BigMan controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
We've been hearing good reports from Castilho's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

BigMan can't do much from the bottom here.

Castilho takes the fight into the clinch.

Castilho breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Castilho shoots in but no luck this time.
Castilho leaves BigMan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
BigMan stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and BigMan wants it to stay on the feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Castilho manages to get an easy takedown there - catching BigMan on his heels. He'll look to pass BigMan's guard now, I'm sure.
Castilho seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Castilho won't allow BigMan to sweep him here.

Castilho is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Castilho might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
BigMan misses with a combination

and Castilho counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Castilho.

Castilho is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

BigMan is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Castilho defends well.
Castilho is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Castilho with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Castilho controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Nice sprawl there from BigMan as Castilho shoots in.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cesar Castilho. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from BigMan is defended easily by Castilho.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Castilho will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

BigMan gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Castilho controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
BigMan trying to keep a closed guard but Castilho is proving a slippery customer.

Castilho shoots in for a takedown but BigMan shows good takedown defense.

Castilho pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Castilho dives in for a single leg takedown but BigMan sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Castilho swats away the attempt to clinch by BigMan.
Castilho half committed to a counter leg kick.
No joy there for BigMan, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Castilho closes the distance and clinches.

Castilho scores with a nice hook to the head.
BigMan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Castilho lands a body punch.

Castilho breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Castilho lands an elbow inside that BigMan shrugs off.


It looks like Joon BigMan has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
BigMan tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Castilho comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
BigMan is trying to break the clinch but Castilho is controlling him.
Castilho is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that BigMan can do to turn this around?
Castilho makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Castilho breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
BigMan dives in and grabs Castilho's left leg, looking for a takedown. Castilho pushes down on BigMan's head and hops out.
Castilho is looking to counter with a shot to the body.

Castilho closes the distance and clinches.

Castilho escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Castilho closes the distance looking for a takedown. BigMan stuffs it but Castilho still has hold of him. Castilho picks BigMan up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. Castilho slams BigMan to the floor and that's really hurt BigMan - he doesn't know where he is! Castilho throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Cesar Castilho!
