The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
City swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Hill counters by moving into the clinch.
City breaks from the clinch.
City drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
City is looking to pass into half guard but Hill pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Hill is in guard.
Hill won't allow City to get back to his feet.

City isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Hill stacks City on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Hill!

Hill looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks City with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
City is pressing down on Hill's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
City escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hill gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
City fails with an attempt to clinch.
City swinging wildly here.
Clint Hill is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hill darts in looking for a takedown but City gets double underhooks and turns Hill into the cage.
Hill sets himself, and City steps forward looking for the clinch! Hill avoids it this time.
City stuffs the takedown attempt from Hill. Hill gets slowly back to his feet.
City tries to close the distance and clinch but Hill swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
City throws a half hearted mid kick.

Hill is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of City's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take City's back!
Hill will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

You can see the frustration on City's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

City is breathing heavily.
Hill lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
City is really stuck here.
Hill is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Hill gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Hill gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Hill apologises and we restart here on the feet.
City throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
It looks like Clint Hill has been cut.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Hill enables City to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hill manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
City won't allow Hill to get back to his feet.

City drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hill looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hill looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hill!

Hill lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Hill is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that City can do to turn this around?
Hill is going oldschool here, as he tries to force City to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so City shrugs it off.

Hill really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

City closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Hill quickly recovers to half guard.

City throws a sloppy head kick and Hill moves out of range easily.

City throws a right and a left that both miss.
Hill was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Hill is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in City's half guard.
Clint Hill overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Hill is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so City is just riding it out for now. Hill eventually gives up the hold.

City takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hill accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Hill decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on City, up you get!
City manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hill on his heels. He'll look to pass Hill's guard now, I'm sure.

City throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hill tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. City is in Hill's guard.

City drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hill manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now City has Hill in his guard.

City feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Hill lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Hill stands and steps away. City gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
City avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
