Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Djin Kvasir! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Bufo Palenque! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Sam Margolis and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kvasir drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Palenque is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Kvasir tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Kvasir definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Kvasir swings around for an armbar but Palenque sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Kvasir's guard. Kvasir is breathing heavily. Kvasir keeping full guard, as Palenque tries to pass. Palenque trying to control but Kvasir is working from the bottom. Kvasir knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Palenque on the ground. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Palenque tries to free his leg and advance position but Kvasir is retaining full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Palenque with a flurry of punches that miss. Palenque wants to pass the guard but Kvasir is keeping the position. Kvasir is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Palenque sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kvasir's guard. Kvasir looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Kvasir looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Palenque trying to pass the guard but Kvasir defending well. Palenque has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Palenque looking to control but Kvasir is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Palenque is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Kvasir is surviving well by controlling Palenque's body position as best he can. Kvasir is wriggling around trying to escape.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Palenque wants to control the pace but Kvasir is squirming around nicely. Palenque is trying to take his opponent's back.

Kvasir remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Palenque will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Palenque's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Well, with Palenque on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Kvasir is tapping out... Can he escape the position? Will Palenque go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Palenque tries to get the hooks in deep but Kvasir pushed the leg off. Palenque looking to break Kvasir's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Kvasir remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Palenque will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Kvasir has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Palenque. Palenque struggling to land strikes to the head as Kvasir covers up. Palenque is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Kvasir defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Palenque working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Palenque struggling to keep hold of the position.

Djin Kvasir dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Kvasir gets a double leg takedown into Palenque's guard. Palenque looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kvasir is one step ahead there. Kvasir trying to move into half guard but instead Palenque has managed to sweep! Palenque stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kvasir swivels though and keeps the full guard. Palenque pushes down on Kvasir's leg and manages to get into half guard. Palenque seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kvasir does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Palenque tries to pass to full mount but Kvasir defends it. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kvasir looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Kvasir actively working from the bottom here. Palenque is looking to take a break and control but Kvasir is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Kvasir shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Palenque as he avoids it easily. Palenque throws a leg kick but Kvasir sees it coming and moves out of range. Palenque throws a body shot but no joy. Palenque throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Palenque misses with an uppercut. Kvasir saw that one coming. Kvasir blocks a low kick nicely. Kvasir feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Kvasir trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Palenque is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kvasir postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Palenque is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kvasir, into his guard. Palenque wants to pass the guard but Kvasir is keeping the position. Palenque trying to control but Kvasir is working from the bottom. Palenque slips nicely into half guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Kvasir misses with a takedown attempt - Palenque sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Palenque looks like he wants to counter punch here. Palenque throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Kvasir tries to sprawl but Palenque drives through with a takedown into half guard. Kvasir looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Kvasir looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Kvasir is staying active underneath Palenque, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Palenque has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Bufo Palenque showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Palenque gets through Kvasir's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Palenque tries to land knees in the clinch but Kvasir avoids the damage to the body. Kvasir drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Palenque has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Kvasir is fighting off a takedown attempt but Palenque is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Kvasir to the mat. Kvasir regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Palenque takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Palenque frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Palenque working for a submission but Kvasir is keeping him at bay. Kvasir is looking to get to half guard. Palenque trying to control but Kvasir is having none of it. Palenque wants to take his opponent's back but Kvasir doesn't allow it. Palenque is working for a guillotine from mount but Kvasir frees his head quite easily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Palenque can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kvasir is looking to escape. Palenque seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Kvasir is holding on tight.
And that's the end of the fight! Bufo Palenque comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Palenque has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
