Haapalainen is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Lentävä Kalakukko. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mikko Haapalainen! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Peter Branson and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Haapalainen slaps away a takedown attempt from Eye, before circling back to the center of the mat. Haapalainen blocks a head kick by Eye.
Haapalainen gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Eye fails to pull guard.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Haapalainen creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Eye tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniel Eye. That's going to take a lot out of him. The referee calls for Eye to work.

Eye drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Haapalainen gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Eye has Haapalainen pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Haapalainen manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. The referee is keeping an eye on Eye - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Haapalainen wants to stand but Eye is controlling his posture from full guard. Haapalainen gets to his feet - Eye follows without any prompting. Haapalainen moves away from the strike by Eye. Haapalainen steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Eye. Eye darts in looking for a takedown but Haapalainen gets double underhooks and turns Eye into the cage. Eye sets himself, and Haapalainen steps forward looking for the clinch! Eye avoids it this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Haapalainen moves into range and clinches up with Eye. Haapalainen effectively controlling the action here. Eye just leaning against Haapalainen, taking a breather. Eye stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Haapalainen will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Eye up against the cage. Haapalainen with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
