Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shane Michaels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Iko Ruhian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Shane Michaels! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Iko Ruhian! The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Ben Watson and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Michaels misses with a hook. Ruhian ducked under it nicely. Michaels fails to land with a series of punches.
Ruhian throws a series of punches but Michaels moves out of range. Michaels appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Ruhian dives in for a single leg takedown but Michaels sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Michaels has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Soul Supremacy Rio in the buildup to the fight. Shane Michaels seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Michaels jabbing away but nothing is landing. Ruhian uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Michaels.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Ruhian! But no joy. Michaels digs a good hook to Ruhian's body.
Nice shot by Michaels. Michaels scores with a punch to the head. Michaels swings for the body but Ruhian moves out of range.
Ruhian has taken the fight to the clinch.
Michaels tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Ruhian just stands there and leans against the cage. Michaels breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ruhian ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Ruhian looks like he wants to counter punch here. Michaels misses with a lunging right hand
and Ruhian counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
It looks like Shane Michaels has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Michaels misses with a looping right. Michaels lunges at Ruhian with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Ruhian's hand. Shane Michaels is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ruhian tries to close the distance and clinch up but Michaels swats him away and circles back towards the center. A swing and a miss from Michaels. Ruhian was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind. Michaels lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Michaels takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Michaels throwing a counter right hand but Ruhian manages to avoid it. Michaels moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Ruhian moves out of range as Michaels strikes. Despite the aggression on Ruhian's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Ruhian scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Michaels is rocked! Ruhian lands a jab and follows it up with a massive straight that knocks Michaels out cold! Michaels is crumpled in the corner, his head only propped up by the cage! That's one for the organiziational promos right there! Wow, what a finish!
