Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Todd Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arman Olsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Todd Johnson has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Todd Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Arman Olsson!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Peter Branson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Olsson moves into the clinch.

Johnson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Olsson clinches.
Olsson tries to pull guard but Johnson holds him up against the cage and eventually Olsson drops back down to his feet.
Olsson prevents Johnson from breaking the clinch.
Johnson has had enough of the clinch but Olsson keeps him there for the moment.
Johnson is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Johnson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Olsson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Johnson napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Olsson works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Olsson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Johnson is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Olsson is trying to get an arm triangle but Johnson is defending well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Johnson manages to get back to half guard.
Johnson is trying to stand.
Olsson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Johnson trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Olsson manages to pass to mount!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Johnson is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
Johnson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Olsson breaks from Johnson's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Johnson is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Olsson looking to control and managing it successfully.
Olsson lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Johnson hang on?

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Johnson fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Olsson is out of range.

Johnson shoots in for a takedown but Olsson shows good takedown defense.
Todd Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Johnson keeps Olsson at a distance using the push kick.
Olsson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Olsson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Johnson was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Arman Olsson has got the better of the ground game so far.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Johnson is in a horrible position here. Olsson smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Johnson looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Olsson avoids the attempt from Johnson to control.

Olsson won't let Johnson get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Johnson trying desperately to get to his feet.
Johnson tries to control the position but Olsson now has his back.
Olsson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Johnson tries to break free.
Johnson is trying to stand back up.
Olsson lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Johnson hold on?!

I really don't envy Johnson right now.

Arman Olsson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Olsson drives through and clinches with Johnson against the cage.

Olsson pulls Johnson in close to prevent any damage.
Johnson trying to control but Olsson is working from the bottom.
Olsson has control of Johnson's left arm, preventing Johnson from doing any damage.
Johnson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Olsson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Johnson is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Johnson misses with a double jab.
Johnson feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Olsson's calf.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Olsson keeps control of Johnson as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Johnson wants to break the clinch but can't.

Olsson manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Olsson will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Olsson thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Olsson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Johnson is controlling him.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Olsson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Johnson is looking to work some ground and pound but Olsson has wrist control.

Olsson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Olsson seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Todd Johnson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Johnson manages to break the clinch.
A head kick misses from Olsson.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Johnson lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Olsson has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Olsson and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

A bone on bone clash there as Olsson blocks the leg kick.
Johnson scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Olsson doesn't seem bothered though.
Arman Olsson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Olsson avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Arman Olsson.
I've got Olsson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
