PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ahsan Hamed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rafael Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hamed comes to the ring accompanied by Ahmed's Theme. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ahsan Hamed!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rafael Silva!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Valeri Chadov and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Hamed lands a leg kick that knocks Silva off balance momentarily.
Silva tries to clinch there but Hamed circles away.
Hamed throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Silva shoots in but Hamed avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Hamed throws a quick counter kick to the body but Silva avoids it.
Silva takes one to the chin there.

and Hamed counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Silva shoots in for a takedown but Hamed shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Hamed went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Ahsan Hamed has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rafael Silva.
Hamed defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Silva.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hamed gets caught napping as Silva dives in and scores a takedown. Hamed manages to retain guard.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Hamed is looking to stand up but Silva isn't so interested in that idea.
Silva looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hamed controls Silva momentarily but Silva frees himself.
Silva is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Silva stops Hamed from standing up.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Hamed dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Silva. That did some damage!
Hamed misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Silva.
Silva will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Hamed bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Silva's head backwards.
Hamed throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Silva misses with a takedown attempt
and Hamed connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hamed dips to his left and cracks Silva with an uppercut!


Silva is rocked!
Hamed connects with a leg kick. Silva looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Silva is still on wobbly legs! Can Hamed finish him?
Hamed's corner calls for a 1-2. Hamed obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Hamed moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Hamed thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Silva if he has to take too many more of those.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hamed seems to be stalking Silva here. He circles momentarily and then unleashes a devastatic head kick! Silva drops like a stone, out cold! WOW! Are you kidding me!? What a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Ahsan Hamed!
During a confident post fight interview, Ahsan Hamed thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
