PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Appleseed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Showtime (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Showtime is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Old Toms Hut. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 22 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rick Showtime!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Aleksandr Martynov and Vladimir Khabensky.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Showtime tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Appleseed defends well and Showtime ends up having to push Appleseed into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Appleseed appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Appleseed ducks right into an uppercut from Showtime.
Appleseed looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Nice sprawl there from Appleseed as Showtime shoots in.
Showtime scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Appleseed enables Showtime to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Appleseed manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Appleseed has his feet on Showtime's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Appleseed misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Showtime gets a clinch.
Appleseed has had enough of the clinch but Showtime keeps him there for the moment.
Appleseed misses with a hook from the clinch.

Appleseed breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Showtime on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Appleseed. Appleseed obviously looking to wear him down.
Appleseed blocks the body kick.
Appleseed tries to score with a low kick but Showtime moves his leg out of the way.
Showtime tries to counter by closing the distance.

Showtime darts in and clinches Appleseed up against the cage.
Showtime leaning against his opponent.

Showtime's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Showtime takes the fight into the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Showtime cracks Appleseed with a nice body shot.

Appleseed pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Appleseed tries to clinch but Showtime moves out of range.
Showtime lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Appleseed goes down and covers up as Showtime starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!
