Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, William Wooooly!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Hakeen Alvarez!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, James Ackerman and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez lands with a nice body punch.
Alvarez scores with a nice body kick.
Alvarez misses with a double jab.
Alvarez misses the jab.
Alvarez throws a low kick but Wooooly moves out of range easily.
Alvarez misses with a head kick.
Alvarez throws a head kick that misses.
Wooooly really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Wooooly looks to throw the jab but Alvarez is out of range.
A left and a right from Alvarez both land. Nice combination.
Nice uppercut there from Alvarez.
Wooooly fails with a takedown attempt.
Wooooly slips a jab and a cross from Alvarez.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Alvarez throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Wooooly stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Wooooly takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Alvarez pulls out of a head kick attempt.
As Alvarez looks to move away, Wooooly throws a big counter combo bu Alvarez just gets out of the way.
That's one minute gone in the round.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Wooooly is defended easily by Alvarez.
Alvarez thuds his right hand into Wooooly's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Alvarez throws a right and a left that both miss.
As Alvarez backs away, Wooooly returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Wooooly closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Alvarez's guard.
Wooooly wants to pass the guard but Alvarez is keeping the position.
Wooooly postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Alvarez wants to control but Wooooly passes easily into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wooooly in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Alvarez tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Wooooly!
