Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Capt Kangaroo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Santos Atunes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kangaroo comes to the cage accompanied by Cryin' Like A Bitch-Godsmackack. Capt Kangaroo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Capt Kangaroo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Santos Atunes! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Eddie Farnsworth and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kangaroo goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Kangaroo closes the distance and clinches. Atunes lands a left hand that snaps the head of Kangaroo backwards. Atunes keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Kangaroo's efforts to push away. I was talking to Kangaroo's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. A body shot lands from Atunes.

Atunes slowing the pace effectively. Atunes lands a hook that snaps the head of Kangaroo backwards. Kangaroo is looking to break free of the clinch but Atunes has double underhooks. A short right from Atunes on the inside. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kangaroo takes a shot to the head. Atunes lands on the inside with an uppercut. Atunes pushes Kangaroo back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Kangaroo is breathing heavily. Atunes breaks the clinch.
Atunes pushes Kangaroo away with a front kick. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kangaroo takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Atunes lands a jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Atunes scores with a nice body kick.
Atunes throws a nice outside leg kick. Santos Atunes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A big left from Kangaroo misses. Atunes cracks Kangaroo with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Atunes scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Atunes's coach down at Morbid Conditioning, Trans, Esc School $1000 was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Atunes's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Kangaroo swinging wildly here.

The fight stays on the outside here - Kangaroo looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Kangaroo looks to clinch and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Atunes is looking to slow Kangaroo down with leg kicks. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Atunes lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Kangaroo tries to close the distance and clinch but Atunes swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Atunes lands with a kick to the ribs.
Atunes catches Kangaroo with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! A decent looking body kick lands there for Atunes. Atunes pushes Kangaroo away with a front kick. Kangaroo steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Atunes. That one must have hurt. Atunes lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Atunes lands a nice looking kick to the body. Kangaroo takes a step back to recover. Atunes with a nice cross. Atunes delivers a nice body kick. Atunes is looking to slow Kangaroo down with leg kicks. Atunes scores with a hook.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Atunes lunges at Kangaroo with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Kangaroo's hand. Atunes lands a slapping body shot.
Kangaroo on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Atunes smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Kangaroo is rocked! Atunes throws a leg kick which misses Kangaroo's front leg but catches the back leg as Kangaroo tries to avoid it. Oh Kangaroo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Atunes cracks Kangaroo on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Kangaroo falls backwards against the cage. Atunes follows up with more strikes that drop Kangaroo to his knees. Atunes keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Kangaroo! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Santos Atunes! Capt Kangaroo spoke after the fight, saying 'I wonder how much he paid the ref?'.
