PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Christopher Longstreet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lee Sin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sin has chosen Lee Sin - By Riot as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Christopher Longstreet!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lee Sin!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Lou da Vinci and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Longstreet throws a combination that misses
and Sin counters with a nice body kick.
Longstreet throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sin.
Sin takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Longstreet connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Longstreet clobbers Sin with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Longstreet connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Sin momentarily.
Longstreet sizes up Sin with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.


Sin is rocked!
Sin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Longstreet as he jumps to the side.
Longstreet connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Sin's hands.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Longstreet keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Sin is still on wobbly legs! Can Longstreet finish him?
Sin avoids the body shot from Longstreet.

Sin tries to clinch but Longstreet is having none of it.
Sin seems to have recovered his senses.
Longstreet smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

and Sin counters by clinching up.
Longstreet digs a right hand underneath Sin's ribcage. Sin let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Longstreet scores with a shot to the side of Sin's head.

Sin pulls guard.
Longstreet tries to free his leg and advance position but Sin is retaining full guard.
Sin keeping moving, preventing Longstreet from controlling successfully.
Longstreet slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Sin is not content to let Longstreet control the position.

Longstreet stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Longstreet lands a jab-cross combination.

Some wild striking there from Longstreet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sin takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Sin looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Sin slips under a jab from Longstreet.
Longstreet misses with an uppercut.
Sin has his takedown stuffed
and Longstreet counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Sin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
It looked like Longstreet wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Sin tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Longstreet lands a jab to the head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Longstreet connects with a jab.
Longstreet scores with a sloppy right hand. Sin should have avoided that one.

Sin rushes Longstreet and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Sin jumps into guard, dragging Longstreet to the mat.

Sin looking for a guillotine here but Longstreet defends easily.
Longstreet is in close to Sin's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Sin being controlled here, momentarily.

Sin looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Longstreet looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Longstreet postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Longstreet with a nice head shot there.
Longstreet slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Longstreet wants to control from the top but Sin keeps moving.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sin is on top in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Longstreet is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Sin postures up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Christopher Longstreet dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Sin closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Longstreet lands with a nice body punch.
Longstreet misses with a right hand
and Sin counters with a stiff right hand.
Longstreet pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Sin slips a straight right by Longstreet.
Longstreet waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Sin.
Longstreet is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Sin with a lazy takedown attempt
and Longstreet counters with a stiff right hand.

Sin has closed the distance and engaged Longstreet in a clinch.
Sin prevents a body shot from Longstreet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sin decides to pull guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Longstreet trying to control but Sin is working from the bottom.
Sin manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Longstreet manages to get himself to full guard.

Longstreet knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sin on the ground.

Longstreet tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Longstreet controls Sin momentarily but Sin frees himself.
Longstreet looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sin is one step ahead there.
Longstreet wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Longstreet wants to get back to his feet but Sin is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Sin stands up over Longstreet, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Longstreet looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sin is one step ahead there.
Longstreet working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Sin.
Longstreet wants to sweep but no luck.
Lee Sin has got the better of the ground game so far.
Sin postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Longstreet trying to control the position.
Longstreet has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Sin throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Longstreet works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Longstreet wants to stand up but Sin is controlling him.
Longstreet looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sin is one step ahead there.
Longstreet is trying to control the position but Sin postures up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Longstreet throws a looping overhand right but Sin ducks down to avoid it.
A looping hook to the body misses from Longstreet. Sin does a little dance to reset his feet.
Sin shapes to counter with a head kick.
Longstreet lands with a shot to the body.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Longstreet, as that shot connected.
Longstreet scores with a jab. Sin acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Sin shoots in but no luck this time.

Longstreet lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Sin uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Longstreet.
Longstreet pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Sin closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sin lands in his opponent's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Longstreet wants to control but Sin passes easily into half guard.
Sin seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Sin is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Christopher Longstreet will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Sin closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Sin jumps guard but Longstreet stands there with Sin around his waist. Sin gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Longstreet lands with a left to the head.
Sin blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Sin is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Longstreet pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Longstreet taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Sin jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Longstreet walks away with a smile on his face. Sin gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Christopher Longstreet has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lee Sin.
A jab from Longstreet finds it's way through Sin's defenses.
Sin takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Longstreet throws a right and a left that Sin avoids nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Longstreet lands a jab to Sin's midsection.
Longstreet misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sin.

Sin shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Longstreet defends it nicely.
Sin takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Longstreet fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Sin steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.

Longstreet slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Longstreet scores with a nice strike.
Sin on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Sin needs to keep his hands up - Longstreet had a free shot at his head there.
Longstreet connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Longstreet throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Sin sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Sin drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Longstreet defends it well.
Longstreet looks to score with a jab to the body but Sin is just out of range.
Longstreet displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sin.
Longstreet is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sin can do to turn this around?
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sin takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Longstreet throws out a loose jab but Sin uses good head movement to avoid it.
Sin bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Longstreet's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Longstreet duly obliges.
Sin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Longstreet's waist but Longstreet gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sin off to one side.
Longstreet lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Sin moves out of range as Longstreet strikes.
A big left from Longstreet misses.
Sin is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Longstreet misses with a looping right.
Sin displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Longstreet throws out the jab.

Longstreet lands a big right hand that sends Sin crashing to the mat! Longstreet stays standing though and waves Sin back to his feet!
Christopher Longstreet is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Longstreet, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
