Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Akihiro Koizumi!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Sano and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koizumi gets a takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Koizumi is nestled in close to Francis, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Francis wants to get back to full guard.
Francis slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Francis wants to sweep here but Koizumi controlling him for the moment.
Koizumi's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Koizumi wants to pass the guard but Francis is keeping the position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Francis is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Koizumi keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Francis's head.
Koizumi chips away with some ground and pound.
Francis could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Koizumi distracts Francis with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Koizumi lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Francis is rocked!

Oh Francis is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Francis is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Koizumi is aware though and is defending well.

Koizumi lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Francis can't keep his opponent in guard - Koizumi advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Koizumi scores with a big shot! Francis's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Francis! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
