Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Brody (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Frank Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Frank Brody! The judges for this bout are , and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Brody's waist but Brody gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jones off to one side. Brody looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Brody darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Brody is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brody tries to stand but can't do so whilst Jones controls his leg. Jones controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Brody tries to pass to full mount but Jones defends it. Jones is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Brody wants to stand up but Jones has a hold of him and won't allow it.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Brody tries to clinch but Jones moves out of range. Brody fails in his attempt to clinch. Brody tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Brody tries to clinch but Jones moves out of range. Jones has his takedown stuffed and Brody counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Brody looking to sit in guard and control but Jones gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Jones controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brody looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Brody keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully. Jones looking to pass the guard. Jones wants to control from the top but Brody keeps moving. Brody looking for a sweep. Not yet Brody, not yet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Jones controls from within his opponent's guard. Jones working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Brody's head. Jones sitting in guard here, content to control. Jones is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Jones is breathing heavily. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jones accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Brody strikes from his own guard. Brody looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Brody trying to control the position.
Brody looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Jones prevents Brody from getting back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frank Brody dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Brody fails with the takedown and Jones counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Jones. Brody is trying to maintain a safe position but Jones gets an underhook and turns Brody into the cage. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Brody tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Jones is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Brody gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Jones turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Jones manages to end up in side control. Brody struggling a bit here. Brody wants to get back to his feet but Jones drags him back down. Sloppy strikes there by Jones. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The strikes coming from Jones are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Jones creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Brody sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brody looking for a sweep but Jones has passed into full mount! Oh no! Jones avoids the attempt from Brody to control. Brody can't escape the position.
Jones scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Brody?

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Brody trying to control but Jones postures up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Brody shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Jones blocks the body kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Jones looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Jones tries to clinch but Brody moves away and Brody counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Jones is looking to control Brody's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jones avoid being mounted? Brody is trying to work for a kimura but Jones is defending well.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Brody seems to be working for a kimura but Jones defends the submission attempt. Ground and pound from Brody. Jones wants to control but Brody is keeping busy.
Jones tries to roll over but Brody keeps him under control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frank Brody showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Brody scores with a hook to the body. Jones takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Brody rushes Jones and presses him up against the cage. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Jones fails to pull guard.
Brody looking to slow down the pace here. Brody has had enough of the clinch but Jones keeps him there for the moment. Brody is looking to break free of the clinch but Jones has double underhooks. Brody tries to pull guard but Jones holds him up against the cage and eventually Brody drops back down to his feet.
Brody wants to stall.
Jones trying to control the position but instead, Brody has worked for underhooks and has pushed Jones into the cage. Brody goes for a takedown in the clinch but Jones prevents it.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. A bit of stalling here from Jones.
Jones tries to score a body lock takedown but Brody shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Brody has had enough of the clinch but Jones keeps him there for the moment. Brody escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Brody is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Brody shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jones's guard. Jones is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Jones has his foot on Brody's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Brody works his way back into a safe position though. Brody makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Brody seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Brody controlling from the top position. Jones doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Brody wants to get up but he can't break Jones's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Brody postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Brody gets in close and instigates a clinch. Jones fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him. Brody lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Brody unloads a knee to the mid-section. Jones lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Jones tries for a takedown. No joy.
Brody has Jones pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Jones manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Brody being controlled against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones gets underhooks to prevent Brody's takedown attempt.
Jones tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Brody smiles and moves away.
Brody shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Brody was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Jones tries to get back to half guard but can't. Brody cracks Jones with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Brody with shots to the head and body - Jones looks very uncomfortable down there. Frank Jones has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Frank Brody is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Brody postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Jones looks a forlorn figure.
And that's the end of the fight! Frank Brody comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Brody has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
