Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tomato Can (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucifer Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones has chosen Testify by RAtM as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Lucifer Jones has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Tomato Can's chin.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lucifer Jones!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones blocks a low kick nicely.

Can shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Can was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Can looking for a guillotine from mount but Jones is having none of it.
Jones is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

Can has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Jones's face.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jones is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jones can do anything to dispel that myth.
Can tries to control but Jones wriggling away.

Can postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Jones looks a forlorn figure.

Can stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Can ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jones moves away.
Tomato Can seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Can is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jones can do to turn this around?

Can fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jones manages to avoid it.

Can takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Horrible takedown by Can or perhaps it was just good defense by Jones which made him look bad.
Can is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Jones scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Can feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Jones is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Lucifer Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.

Can changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jones tries to avoid it but Can manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jones to the ground. Jones escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Jones counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Lucifer Jones seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Can shoots in but Jones avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Can chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Jones can pounce on him.

Jones dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Can waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Jones.
Jones lands a nice shot to the body.
Can takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Jones throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
