Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Reed Basaev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Max Jackson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Jackson misses the target.
Basaev was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

It looks like Reed Basaev has been cut.
Jackson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Reed Basaev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

It looked like Basaev was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Jackson.
Basaev looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Basaev catches Jackson with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Jackson throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Basaev counters with a stiff right hand.
Basaev is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jackson.
Jackson gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Basaev gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Reed Basaev!
