Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Millard Rivers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Champ Henson!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Alan Glass and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Henson pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Rivers back to the cage. Henson follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.


It looks like Millard Rivers has been cut.
Henson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Henson connects with a crisp jab.
Henson throws a right and a left that both miss.
Champ Henson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Henson swings for the body but Rivers moves out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Henson. Rivers does a little dance to reset his feet.

Rivers closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Henson's guard.

Henson is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Rivers presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Henson is pulling down on Rivers's head to control his posture.
Rivers stands up over Henson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Henson manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Rivers keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Rivers tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Henson avoids it.
Henson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Rivers's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Henson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rivers circles away quickly and effectively.

Henson throws a right hand that Rivers ducks under and follows up with a left that Rivers also avoids with ease.

Rivers keeps control of Henson as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Rivers can't find room to land a body shot as Henson controls the action.

Rivers is fighting to break Henson's control of his arms but Henson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Rivers avoids a punch combination nicely.
Henson throws a series of punches but Rivers moves out of range.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Rivers is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Henson pulls him back up using the underhooks.

A frustrated look appears on Henson's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Rivers drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Henson gets the underhooks and prevents it.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Henson is trying to push Rivers away but Rivers has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Champ Henson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Rivers ducks right into an uppercut from Henson.

and Rivers cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

and Henson counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Rivers went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

It looked like Rivers was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Henson stalks Rivers and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Rivers's face. Rivers staggers backwards, shaken.

Rivers moves into range and clinches up with Henson.
Henson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Rivers has him pressed against the cage.

The referee is keeping an eye on Rivers - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Henson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Champ Henson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Henson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
