Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Corwin Anstey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Talbert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sam Talbert has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Corwin Anstey's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
32 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Corwin Anstey! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Sam Talbert! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Anstey moves out of range as Talbert strikes. Talbert throws an overhand right that lands on Anstey's shoulder, as Anstey tries to avoid the shot. Anstey fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Anstey looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Anstey shoots in looking for a takedown but Talbert manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Anstey's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Anstey closes the distance and clinches up with Talbert, looking for a takedown. Anstey pushes Talbert against the cage but Talbert circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Talbert throws out a counter right but Anstey avoids it with no problem. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Corwin Anstey. That's going to take a lot out of him. A jab from Talbert misses. A lazy left from Talbert finds it's target. Anstey tries for a takedown but Talbert circles away easily and Talbert counters with a lovely straight right hand! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Anstey lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Talbert circles away quickly and effectively. Anstey clinches up against the cage. Anstey's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Anstey on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Talbert throws a lazy right hand but Anstey sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Anstey looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
That's one minute gone in the round. Anstey tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Anstey moves into the clinch successfully.

Talbert turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Talbert manages to end up in side control. Talbert grinds an elbow into Anstey's temple. Talbert throwing shots but missing, from side control. Talbert scoring with punches from side control. Talbert has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Anstey is not content to let Talbert control the position. Anstey prevents Talbert from improving position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Talbert tries to score with some ground and pound. Anstey controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Talbert scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Anstey to see if he's OK. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Talbert prevents Anstey from escaping the position. Anstey wants to control but Talbert postures up. Talbert connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Anstey some visible discomfort.

Anstey manages to work his way to half guard, despite Talbert's best efforts. Talbert takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Anstey keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Talbert is looking to stall here but Anstey recovers full guard. Anstey looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Talbert stands up over Anstey, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Talbert trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Anstey manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Anstey engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Talbert trying to keep a closed guard but Anstey is proving a slippery customer.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Talbert bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Anstey's guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Talbert accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Talbert is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Talbert in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Anstey is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Anstey trying to control the position here. Anstey keeping moving, preventing Talbert from controlling successfully. Anstey trying to keep a closed guard but Talbert is proving a slippery customer.

Sam Talbert dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Nice sprawl there from Talbert as Anstey shoots in. Talbert is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Anstey. Talbert misses with a straight right. Anstey bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Talbert misses with an uppercut. Anstey saw that one coming. Anstey is looking for a counter combo. Anstey closes the distance and pushes Talbert back into the cage. Talbert wants to break free but Anstey has control.

Anstey is really struggling to control Talbert but he's trying to hold on to the position. Anstey preventing the sweep. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Anstey got a little sloppy there for a moment and Talbert has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Anstey has managed to get both his arms back between Talbert's legs - danger averted. Talbert keeping full guard, as Anstey tries to pass. That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Talbert being controlled here, momentarily. Talbert looking for a sweep. Not yet Talbert, not yet. Sam Talbert has got the better of the ground game so far. Talbert has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Anstey can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Talbert is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Talbert is trying to keep Anstey in close.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Anstey looks to land a body kick but Talbert moved away. Corwin Anstey is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Anstey clinches up with Talbert and pushes him back against the cage. Anstey lands a body punch. That was a close second round but I would say that Corwin Anstey will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Talbert is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Anstey rolls with it to try and escape but Talbert cranks on the arm and Anstey is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
