Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Onkel Bergmann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maximus Meridius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Onkel Bergmann has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Onkel Bergmann! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Maximus Meridius! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Roosa Järviläinen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Meridius has managed to clinch.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Bergmann letting Meridius take a breather here. Meridius is trying to maintain a safe position but Bergmann gets an underhook and turns Meridius into the cage. Meridius creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Bergmann avoids the elbow strike from Meridius, against the cage.

Bergmann tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Good body shot from Bergmann.
Meridius blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Bergmann stalls. Meridius throws an elbow but it misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Meridius lands an elbow inside. A nice right hand lands inside from Bergmann. Bergmann dodges an elbow strike from Meridius.
Meridius misses with an elbow over the top. Bergmann taking a breather. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Meridius just misses with a elbow thrown towards Bergmann's brow.
That's one minute gone in the round. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Bergmann pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Bergmann changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Meridius looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Bergmann working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Bergmann throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bergmann misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Bergmann throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Meridius really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bergmann. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Meridius on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Bergmann working the body and head with strikes. Bergmann in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Bergmann is staying tight to Meridius's torso, preventing him from escaping. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Meridius can do anything to dispel that myth. Bergmann landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Meridius takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bergmann controlling from side mount. Bergmann misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Meridius takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Bergmann is working to tighten his grip on Meridius's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Meridius has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Bergmann is really squeezing tight and eventually Meridius passes out! Bergmann breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Onkel Bergmann! Onkel Bergmann bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
