Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sandy Gower!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Dave Callaghan!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Wagner Zegers and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gower throws a hook to the side of Callaghan's head but Callaghan sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Gower lands a jab.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Callaghan has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
A big left from Gower misses.
Callaghan with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Gower to score with a decent uppercut.
Gower leaves Callaghan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Gower manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Callaghan is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Gower to keep the fight standing.
Sandy Gower has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dave Callaghan.

Dave Callaghan's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Gower pushes Callaghan back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Gower stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Callaghan is breathing heavily.

The referee calls for Gower to work.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Gower takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Gower seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Gower creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

After winning the bout, Sandy Gower thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
