Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sumon Bararu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ahmad Howard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, William Peck and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bararu closes this distance looking for a takedown but Howard circles away.

Howard shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bararu sprawls well. Bararu wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Howard gets slowly back to his feet.

Howard leaves Bararu with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Howard shoots in looking for a takedown but Bararu manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Howard's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Howard goes for a double leg but Bararu avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Bararu continues to drive forward.
Bararu fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Howard manages to avoid it.

Howard has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Bararu is on him like a limpet, forcing Howard back against the cage.
Bararu is trying to drag Howard to the mat but Howard just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Bararu pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Bararu displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Howard.
As Howard tries to get set, Bararu tries to push him back and clinch up but Howard manages to avoid the attempt.
Bararu shoots in but Howard avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Bararu dives in for a single leg takedown but Howard sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

That was a close round but I would say that Sumon Bararu will probably get the nod.

Ahmad Howard showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Howard accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Howard content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Bararu knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Howard on the ground.
Howard is nestled in close to Bararu, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Bararu wants to get back to full guard but Howard has mounted him!
Howard tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Howard throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Bararu is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Bararu squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Bararu on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bararu tries to get out of the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

I think Howard has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
