The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gallardo throws a right and a left that Steele avoids nicely.
Steele uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gallardo.

Gallardo closes the distance and clinches.

Steele gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Steele drops back looking for a leg! Gallardo is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gallardo manages to kick Steele off! Steele jumps back into Gallardo's guard.

The fighters are working up against the ropes. Gallardo manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the ropes.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gallardo gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Steele.
Steele is trying to pull guard but Gallardo turns him against the ropes and we stay in the clinch.
Lambo Gallardo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Steele.
Gallardo lands an elbow that stopped Steele in his tracks for a moment.

It looks like George Steele has been cut.

Steele manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Gallardo stays in close to Steele's body and controls the position.

Gallardo wants to get up but he can't break Steele's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Steele isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Gallardo stacks Steele on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Gallardo!

Gallardo stands up and we're back to a striking position.
A looping hook to the body misses from Gallardo. Steele does a little dance to reset his feet.
Steele fails to land the takedown.
Steele shoots for a double leg takedown but Gallardo sprawls well. He's pushed Steele's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Gallardo throws a right hand that Steele ducks under and follows up with a left that Steele also avoids with ease.
No luck for Steele with that takedown attempt.
As Steele looks to move away, Gallardo throws a big counter combo bu Steele just gets out of the way.

Gallardo throws a nice looking combination but Steele bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Steele shoots in for a takedown but Gallardo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Gallardo has closed the distance and engaged Steele in a clinch.

Gallardo lands a hook that stumbles Steele back into the ropes. Gallardo follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Steele to the canvas! Gallardo pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Steele has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!
