Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Mann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Connely (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mann comes to the cage accompanied by F'd up. Mike Mann has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Mann! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dan Connely! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mann shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Connely pinned against the cage. Connely gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Mann looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Connely! Mann tries to control but Connely wriggling away. Connely avoids a series of strikes thrown by Mann.
Connely manages to regain half guard. Good work. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Connely can do anything to dispel that myth. Mann seems to be working for a kimura but Connely defends the submission attempt. Mann is looking for a kimura here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mann throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Mann wants to pass the guard but Connely is defending well. Connely moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Mann has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Mann trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Mann seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Mann wants to control from the top but Connely keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Connely is looking to stand up but Mann isn't so interested in that idea. Mann working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Connely wants to stand but Mann is controlling the position. Mann in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Mann looking to pass the guard.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Mann takes one to the side of the head.
Connely fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mann sprawls well initially but Connely persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Connely seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mann flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Connely is figuring out what he wants to do next. I looks like Connely might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Mann misses with some strikes from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Connely is controlling the pace.
Mann is trying to get back to full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mann is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Connely's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Connely's back! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dan Connely dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Mann fails with the takedown and Connely counters with a nice uppercut. Connely connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Mann misses with a takedown attempt and Connely connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. A left lands for Connely. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Connely connects with a crisp jab. Connely shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Connely was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Connely content just to control the position here. Mann tries to hold on but Connely pushes him away. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mann is looking to get to half guard. Connely controlling the pace for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mann is looking to improve his position but Connely isn't that keen on the idea. Connely controlling from the full mount. Mann is trying desperately to improve position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Mann is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Mann is trying to escape the mount.
Mann swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Mann is in all sorts of trouble here.
Connely can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mann is looking to escape. Mann can't escape the position.

Dan Connely showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Mann's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Despite being in the dominant position, Dan Connely just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Mann gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Mike Mann is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Connely moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Mann with a lazy takedown attempt and Connely counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Mann gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily enabling Connely to counter with a crisp jab. Connely looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Connely is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Mann keeping moving, preventing Connely from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Connely tries to stand but Mann is controlling from the bottom. Mann controls Connely momentarily but Connely frees himself. Mann keeping moving, preventing Connely from controlling successfully. Mann might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Mann has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Connely is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Mann. Connely gets to mount! Mann was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mann is looking to get to half guard. Mann tries to hold on but Connely postures up. Mann is trying desperately to improve position. Connely sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Mann keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Mann is working hard here to advance position. Mike Mann has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Mann throwing hammer fists to the chest of Connely. What's that going to do exactly? Mann is looking to improve his position but Connely isn't that keen on the idea. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that's the end of the fight! Dan Connely comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Connely has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
