PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ben Henley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juan Koski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Koski has chosen Accept - Head Over Heels as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Ben Henley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Juan Koski!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Phil Schofield and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koski cracks Henley with a right hand to the side of the head.
Henley throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Koski sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Koski closes the distance and pushes Henley back into the cage.

Henley gets control of Koski's arms and successfully pulls guard. Henley will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Koski postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Koski is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Henley has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Koski can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Koski got a little sloppy there for a moment and Henley has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Koski has managed to get both his arms back between Henley's legs - danger averted.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Henley had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Koski defends it easily.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Henley escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Koski gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Henley isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Koski stacks Henley on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Koski!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Koski is on top in guard.

Henley bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Koski's guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Ben Henley will probably get the nod.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ben Henley will probably get the nod.

Koski connects with a good right hand that stumbles Henley. Henley circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Henley lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Henley tries to score a power double leg takedown but Koski sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Henley somewhat.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Koski misses with a low kick.
Koski misses with a series of wild punches.
Henley throws a jab but it's blocked by Koski.
Henley jabs at Koski's body.
Koski throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
It looked like Henley was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Koski tries a head kick but it misses.
Henley throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Henley throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Horrible takedown attempt by Henley or perhaps it was just good defense by Koski, which made it look bad.
Juan Koski is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

I would just about give that final round to Juan Koski.
I think Henley has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
