25 - 16 - 1, fighting out of New York, Xathras Choate! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sloppy strikes from Choate. Those never looked like landing. Choate lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Chekhov takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Choate looks to land a body kick but Chekhov moved away. Chekhov with a body punch. A glancing blow. Chekhov throws a wild body kick that Choate sees coming a mile off. Choate misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Chekhov.

This has been an exciting period of action! Choate loads up on a big right hand but Chekhov slips the punch. Chekhov throws a hook to the side of Choate's head but Choate sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Choate bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Chekhov throws the kick towards the body but Choate avoids it. Chekhov throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Chekhov fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Choate. Choate connects with a single shot there. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Choate checks the leg kick. Nice uppercut lands for Choate. That snapped Chekhov's head back.

Choate throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Chekhov sees it coming and avoids it easily. Chekhov swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Nice jab there from Chekhov. Chekhov feints and then cracks Choate's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Choate down. Choate lands a nice hook to Chekhov's body. Chekhov takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Choate ducks under a wild hook from Chekhov. Choate takes a swing at Chekhov's ribcage but misses. Chekhov half committed to a counter leg kick. Choate looks to land a right hand but Chekhov moved out of range. Choate keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

That was a close round but I would say that Anton Chekhov will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Choate might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Chekhov has got the better of the exchanges. Chekhov scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Chekhov throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Choate stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Choate takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Chekhov. Choate thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Chekhov if he has to take too many more of those.

Chekhov blocks a jab. Choate catches Chekhov with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Chekhov lands a nice hook to Choate's body. Choate takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Choate lands with a kick to the temple. Chekhov shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Choate fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Chekhov throws a body kick despite being completely out of range letting Choate counter with a right hand. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A clash of legs there as Choate blocks the low kick.

Chekhov throws a wild body kick that Choate sees coming a mile off. Chekhov misses with a kick to the body and Choate counters with an outside leg kick.
Chekhov uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Choate has time to react. Chekhov misses with a low kick. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Choate crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Chekhov - the referee stops the clock and Choate gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Chekhov. Choate manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. A slapping leg kick lands for Chekhov.

That was a close second round but I would say that Anton Chekhov will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Chekhov plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Chekhov on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Choate. Choate obviously looking to wear him down.
Chekhov fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Choate has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Choate throws a right hand that misses
and Chekhov makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Choate really felt that one! A slapping body kick lands there for Chekhov. Chekhov lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Chekhov. Chekhov goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Choate has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Chekhov. Choate on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
