The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rayeed.
Gotlib went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Rayeed shoots in for a takedown but Gotlib shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Rayeed looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gotlib is fending him off so far but Rayeed persists. Nope, Gotlib circles away and we're back to standing.
Gotlib drops down looking for a counter takedown but Rayeed sprawls and moves away.

Rayeed shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Gotlib sprawls well. Gotlib wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rayeed gets slowly back to his feet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rayeed shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gotlib pinned against the cage. Gotlib gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Gotlib counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Gotlib wants to work for an arm triangle but Rayeed is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Gotlib decides to stand and escape the position.
Rayeed goes for a double leg but Gotlib avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Gotlib continues to drive forward.
As Rayeed looks to move away, Gotlib throws a big counter combo bu Rayeed just gets out of the way.
Rayeed closes the distance and clinches up with Gotlib, looking for a takedown. Rayeed pushes Gotlib against the cage but Gotlib circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Rayeed shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gotlib but Gotlib pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Gotlib throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Rayeed was covering up waiting for the punch and Gotlib finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Gotlib hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
