The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Helm swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Von Sprockets is trying to get an arm triangle but Helm is defending well. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Helm can do anything to dispel that myth. Von Sprockets is chipping away with strikes.

Von Sprockets in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Helm really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Von Sprockets. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Von Sprockets working the ground and pound but Helm is defending the strikes. Von Sprockets thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Helm managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Von Sprockets.

It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Von Sprockets manages to end up in side control. Von Sprockets swings around for an armbar but Helm sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Von Sprockets's guard. Von Sprockets pulls Helm in close to his closed guard and prevents Helm from doing any damage or advancing position. Helm must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Von Sprockets looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
