Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Federico Mcguire! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jackson Montgomery! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Montgomery throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Mcguire moves into the clinch. Mcguire's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Montgomery throws a head kick that misses. Mcguire swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. A head kick misses from Mcguire. Mcguire fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Mcguire throws a sloppy head kick and Montgomery moves out of range easily. The fight moves into the clinch position. Montgomery has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Montgomery lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Mcguire backwards. Montgomery is trying to force a seperation but Mcguire has the dominant position. Mcguire breaks from the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mcguire tries to score a power double leg takedown but Montgomery sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mcguire somewhat. Mcguire throws a leg kick but Montgomery moved away. Montgomery is looking for the big counter here. Montgomery closes the distance and clinches. Mcguire is working for takedown but Montgomery is calmly controlling the position for now. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Federico Mcguire. That's going to take a lot out of him. Montgomery stops a takedown attempt from Mcguire.
Mcguire breaks from the clinch.
Montgomery misses with a head kick.
Montgomery tries to bum rush Mcguire with a series of wild strikes but Mcguire uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Montgomery fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Montgomery throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Mcguire counters by clinching up. Mcguire can't get the takedown.

Montgomery is trying to break the clinch but Mcguire is controlling him. Montgomery makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Mcguire is trying to trip Montgomery. He has hold of a leg but Montgomery is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Mcguire persists though and gets the takedown into guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mcguire is working Montgomery over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Mcguire won't allow Montgomery to get back to his feet. Montgomery looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Montgomery preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Montgomery wants to stand and escape but Mcguire is having none of it. Mcguire is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Montgomery is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Montgomery has escaped and now he's on top! Montgomery trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Mcguire throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Mcguire tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Mcguire misses with a head kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Mcguire tries to score a power double leg takedown but Montgomery sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mcguire somewhat. Montgomery feints the counter takedown. Mcguire is breathing heavily. Montgomery has closed the distance and engaged Mcguire in a clinch.
Mcguire keeps control of Montgomery as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Mcguire struggles to land a body shot inside as Montgomery controls his hands.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Montgomery is trying to break the clinch but Mcguire has him pressed against the cage. Mcguire breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jackson Montgomery seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. You can follow us on Twitter at...Ooooooh Mcguire got wobbled bad by a big combination! Montgomery presses forward with punches and knees until Mcguire stumbles to the ground! The ref watches Mcguire closely before deciding to step in and end the fight!
