Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mickey Valenzuela (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and American Slasher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). American Slasher has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mickey Valenzuela!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, American Slasher!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Kenichi Hosakawa and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slasher lands a jab to Valenzuela's midsection.
Valenzuela takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Slasher pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Valenzuela moves out of range as Slasher throws a body kick.
Valenzuela shoots in for a takedown but Slasher shows good takedown defense.
Slasher throws a series of punches but Valenzuela avoids them all with ease.

Slasher closes the distance and pushes Valenzuela back into the cage.
Valenzuela is trying to push Slasher away but Slasher has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Slasher breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Slasher swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Valenzuela counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Valenzuela could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Valenzuela jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Slasher walks away with a smile on his face. Valenzuela gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Slasher thows a body kick. Valenzuela tries to catch it but that hurt him.
American Slasher seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Slasher closes the distance and clinches.
Slasher gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.


It looks like Mickey Valenzuela has been cut.

Valenzuela drags the fight down to the ground.
Slasher working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Valenzuela is pulling down on Slasher's head to control his posture.
Slasher tries to stand but Valenzuela is controlling from the bottom.

Valenzuela has Slasher pulled in close to control his posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Valenzuela has a closed guard, preventing Slasher from standing up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Slasher lands a big head kick that sends Valenzuela tumbling to the mat! Slasher takes a step backwards and waves Valenzuela back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Slasher tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Oh Valenzuela is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
A combination from Slasher does no damage.
Valenzuela thinks about countering with a head kick.
Slasher has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Valenzuela is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Valenzuela tries to keep at a distance but Slasher has taken the fight into the clinch.
Valenzuela seems to have got his legs back now.
Slasher is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Valenzuela is trying to break free.

Slasher drops Valenzuela with a beautiful combination! Valenzuela stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Slasher is looking for the KO!

Valenzuela tries to pull guard but Slasher won't allow it.

Valenzuela is working for takedown but Slasher is calmly controlling the position for now.
Slasher wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Valenzuela manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Slasher manages to get himself to full guard.

Valenzuela shoots in for a double leg but Slasher sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Slasher moves into range and clinches up with Valenzuela.

Valenzuela jumps guard and drags Slasher to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Valenzuela wriggles free and stands up.

Valenzuela closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Valenzuela lands in his opponent's guard.

Slasher wants to stand and escape but Valenzuela is having none of it.
Valenzuela slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Slasher wants to get back to his feet but Valenzuela is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Valenzuela postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Slasher has momentary wrist control but Valenzuela slips an elbow through the middle.
Valenzuela content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Valenzuela is taking a breather. Slasher says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Valenzuela looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Slasher with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Slasher pushes Valenzuela off looking to stand but Valenzuela dives back in and keeps control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Slasher can do anything to dispel that myth.

Valenzuela shoots for a takedown but Slasher saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Jeez, Mickey Valenzuela's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Mickey Valenzuela's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). American Slasher!
American Slasher was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
