Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lloyd Mccarthy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jack Hillman! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hillman fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Mccarthy to the ground. Hillman is now in Mccarthy's guard. Hillman working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Mccarthy's head. Hillman postures up in Mccarthy's guard and throws a big left but Mccarthy blocks it. Hillman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Mccarthy manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hillman manages to get himself to full guard.
Mccarthy avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Mccarthy wants to control from the top but Hillman keeps moving. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hillman lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Hillman sitting in guard here, content to control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hillman is in close to Mccarthy's body, working some short punches and elbows. Mccarthy tries to land a sweep but no joy. Mccarthy escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hillman gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Hillman is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Hillman trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hillman controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Hillman throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Mccarthy tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hillman is in Mccarthy's guard. Hillman slips nicely into half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hillman lands a nice short elbow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hillman frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Hillman with good strikes from the mount here! Mccarthy working to try and regain half guard.
Hillman working Mccarthy over with strikes here. Hillman cracks Mccarthy with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Mccarthy is rocked! Hillman controls the position. Oh Mccarthy is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Hillman cracks Mccarthy with a big shot to the side of the head Mccarthy is covering up - he's in big trouble! Hillman connects with another shot that knocks Mccarthy out cold! Hillman stands above his unconscious opponent and soaks up the roars from the crowd!
