Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bruce Luis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nigel Hendrix! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Nard Betker and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Luis has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Hendrix. Hendrix uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Luis has time to react. Hendrix lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Luis lands the left hand. Luis on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Hendrix. Hendrix obviously looking to wear him down.
Luis tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hendrix was well out of range. Poor timing from Luis. Hendrix defending well as Luis loads up on a big left hand. A slapping body kick lands there for Luis. Hendrix doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Luis connects with an inside leg kick. Hendrix misses with a wild body shot. Luis checks a low kick from Hendrix. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hendrix sizes up Luis with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Luis checks a leg kick. Hendrix throws a leg kick and Luis counters by clinching up. Luis unloads a knee to the mid-section. Luis throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Luis works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hendrix trying to control the position but instead, Luis has worked for underhooks and has pushed Hendrix into the ropes. Luis lands an elbow inside that Hendrix shrugs off. We've been informed that Hendrix has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Luis lands an elbow inside that Hendrix shrugs off. A short right from Luis on the inside.
Hendrix is rocked! Luis creates a bit of space for himself and unleashed what can only be described as a tiger uppercut, straight out of Street Fighter! Hendrix crashes to the mat! Can he make it back to his feet in time? 3,4,5,6... it doesn't look like he's going to make it! Hendrix face plants back to the mat and the referee calls off the fight! Luis takes it with a brutal technical knockout!
