Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Terrance Barnett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cristiano Paiva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Josh West, Ryoma Takatsuka and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Paiva, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Barnett takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Paiva connects with a single shot there.
Barnett closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Barnett lands in his opponent's guard.
Paiva not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Paiva is trying to control the position but Barnett postures up.

Barnett shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Barnett was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Barnett drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Barnett jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Paiva is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Barnett dives into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Barnett thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Barnett tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Barnett has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Paiva tries to improve position but can't.
Barnett has control of an arm but Paiva manages to advance to Barnett's back!
Paiva is trying to stick to Barnett's back but Barnett is turning into Paiva. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Paiva's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Barnett.

Paiva tries to keep at a distance but Barnett has taken the fight into the clinch.

Well Barnett has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
